President Ahmad Al-Sharaa has arrived in Türkiye to participate in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. In an interview with Anadolu Agency, he stated that Türkiye had been a key supporter of the Syrian revolution for 14 years and had consistently stood by the Syrian people. He highlighted the deep historical and geographical ties between Syria and Türkiye, which strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
President Al-Sharaa emphasized that Syria and Türkiye can work together to build a stable future for the region. He noted that Syria has moved from a phase of crisis to one of reconstruction and development, pointing to significant opportunities for expanding economic cooperation, including the establishment of joint industrial zones and the development of ports and airports.
He also discussed Syria’s potential role in the global energy market, noting that the country could serve as a secure corridor for energy supplies between the Gulf region and Türkiye. He added that the “Four Seas Project” would help connect transportation routes and secure supply chains among Syria, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and the Gulf states.
Regarding diplomatic relations with Israel, President Al-Sharaa stressed that Syria would pursue a diplomatic path to avoid escalation despite the presence of Israeli forces on Syrian territory. He added that the conflict in Lebanon poses a threat to regional security, while Syria is working to maintain stability.
The President also revealed progress in the integration process between revolutionary forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), stating that the withdrawal of the last foreign military base from northeastern Syria would be an important step toward stability. He further praised Türkiye’s role in promoting regional and international stability.
