Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa held talks with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the latest developments in the region and their impact on regional security and the safety of international navigation.
The meeting addressed the friendly relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the economic and development sectors, in order to serve the interests of both nations and their peoples.
The two leaders also exchanged views on major regional issues of mutual concern, including developments in the Middle East and their implications for regional and international peace and security, as well as their effects on the global economy and maritime navigation.
President Ahmad Al-Sharaa renewed his condemnation of the Iranian attacks that targeted civilians and vital facilities in the UAE and other countries in the region, stressing that such actions constitute a violation of state sovereignty and international law and pose a threat to regional stability. He also praised the measures taken by the UAE to safeguard its security and protect its citizens and residents.
Both sides reaffirmed their desire to strengthen UAE-Syria relations and advance cooperation in ways that support their shared aspirations for development and a more prosperous future.
Earlier, President Al-Sharaa arrived in the UAE, where he was received at the Presidential Airport by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Khalifa bin Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State.
